For One Night Only! An Extravaganza of Swing, Circus & "Temptuous" Dance Acts

On Friday 3rd October, The Mardyke Entertainment Complex celebrated its 25th Anniversary in style as it presented "Salon Burlesque".  For one night only, Cork's leading group entertainment venue was transformed into a Burlesque Paradise with the help of popular burlesque performers, "Boutique Burlesque".

Invited guests entered the Mysterious World of Moulin Rouge, and were treated to an extravaganza of Swing, Circus and "Temptuous" Dance Acts, while enjoying many Old World Delights along the way.

Monsieur Mime, MC for the evening introduced the guests to acts such as Foxy Schmackabum, who entertained guests with her comedy burlesque dance routine and striptease; Miss Pretty Propeller & Co. who led the crowd through a Burlesque dance workshop, and the PassePartout Circus Compagnie thrilled guests with their display of circus acts and comedy theatre.

The Mardyke Entertainment Complex which is celebrating 25 years in business this year, is Cork's leading entertainment venue for Corporate and Private groups , incorporating a wide range of interactive activities, a  selection of bars and nightclubs, with good quality and value food and beverage options.  On Friday, guests were able to sample all of the interactive activities the Mardyke has to offer, such as the new Karaoke K-Pods.   

For many regular party goers, as well as many people visiting the Entertainment Complex for the first time,  this was an opportunity to experience the facilities of the Mardyke in a completely different manner, as it was transformed into old world Paris and everything that Moulin Rouge has to offer. 

The team at the Mardyke Entertainment Complex pride themselves on transformation and adaptation and have done so over the years by adding to the entertainment facilities they offer.  Eddie Nicholson, whose family have owned the property since the late 1800's, and who first opened the Mardyke 25 years ago, stated "As an Entertainment Complex, the Mardyke has changed beyond all recognition from where it was originally 25 years ago, to where it is today as the leading over 18 Entertainment Complex in the area." 

Eddie added "We wanted to celebrate this special anniversary in style with our loyal customers and some new faces, who may not have experienced our unique range of facilities before.   This event dazzled and surprised even our regular visitors.  The team and I enjoyed this very special night immensely with our guests as we celebrated such a significant landmark in the history of the Mardyke."
