Q-Park Ireland this week presented the Mercy Hospital Foundation with a cheque for €9,569 from funds raised in 2015 to support advancements in research, diagnosis, treatment and care of patients at The Mercy University Hospital.

Since 2013, Q-Park has partnered with the Mercy Hospital Foundation to provide a special parking offer to the hospital, as well as making an annual donation to the charity. Patients and the families of patients attending The Mercy University Hospital can park in Q-Park St. Finbarr’s parking facility for up to 24 hours for only €7, with €1 being donated to The Mercy Foundation for every validation received through the Hospital Shop.

In 2014, the Mercy’s Corporate Partnership with Q-Park was named ‘Best Corporate Partnership’ at the Mercy Stars Awards, which celebrate the people who, through their fundraising efforts, make things a little easier for patients, and who help the Foundation invest in new technologies to ensure that The Mercy is at the forefront of the effective diagnosis, treatment and care of Mercy patients.

This week’s donation brings funds raised through this partnership since 2013 to almost €17,000.

Speaking about the partnership, Simon Madden, Marketing Manager for Q-Park Ireland said “At Q-Park, we feel that we are much more than just a parking company and we take our Corporate Social Responsibility very seriously. It is always important for us to help and support all of the communities in which we operate and our partnership with The Mercy University Hospital and the Mercy Hospital Foundation demonstrates our commitment to such a policy. We are all delighted to be associated with such a wonderful hospital which has served the people of Cork for generations. We look forward to many more years of partnership and we could not be happier in the knowledge that our financial contribution is making a difference to the lives of patients at the Mercy.”

Michelle Murphy, Corporate and Events Fundraiser at the Mercy Hospital Foundation said “Our mission is to inspire people to support advancements in research, diagnosis, treatments and care of patients at The Mercy University Hospital, the People’s Hospital. We promise to do our very best to provide you with a world class hospital, right on your doorstep, and this is only possible through the help of our corporate donors like Q-Park who continue to support the Foundation year after year.”
