Nova Broadband celebrates a hugely successful 2016 & reveals big plans for 2017

22 December 2016

Leading broadband service provider Nova Broadband celebrated their most successful year to date in 2016 as they successfully launched phase one of their national expansion plan. The €250,000 investment to expand their network out of Munster and into Leinster proved to be both a brave and successful move.

The national expansion and direct investment into their business networks led to huge growth in Nova Broadband’s business sales - an area which they hope to heavily invest in and grow further in 2017.  Speaking on this, CEO Dave Mc Donald stated: “2016 has been a phenomenal year for us. We took a lot of risks and invested heavily and luckily for us it paid off. We have grown hugely in the last 12 months and our aim is to double that growth in 2017. This year we concentrated a lot on our business networks - an area that we know inside and out, one which we will plan to concentrate more on next year. We will also be continuing our national expansion plan next year and are looking forward to welcoming more Nova Broadband customers on board as we grow.”

The expansion and increase in customer numbers also led Nova Broadband to increase their staff numbers by 40% and in turn relocate the Nova Broadband headquarters to a bigger premises in Carrigtwohill, Co Cork.

2016 also saw Nova Broadband take home the award for Cork Broadband Provider of the Year at the Cork Business Awards.

Phase two of the national expansion plan is due to kick off in 2017 with expansion of Nova’s presence into three prominent Dublin datacentres in January (BT Citywest, Equinix Citywest and Viatel). This core back-end expansion will increase network capacity by over 2000% and will allow Nova to scale up its business offering, providing further fibre and dedicated services to businesses nationwide. As a result, the number one rated broadband provider hopes to create up to 20 new jobs in the next 24 months as they continue to expand into other counties.
