Lily Shealy Flynn, Jennifer Quigley and Daniel Furs, patients at the National Children’s Hospital, helped launch its annual National Pancake Party which is now in its 12th year. The fun and delicious fundraising campaign kicks off this week, with the main event on Pancake Tuesday 28th February, all in aid of the National Children Hospital, Tallaght.
Each year as the campaign gets bigger and bigger, The National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght asks the public to enjoy their pancakes in aid of a worthy cause. By hosting a Pancake Party you can help The National Children’s Hospital to raise vital funds needed to support over 70,000 sick children from all over Ireland who attend the hospital each year.
Hosting a Pancake Party couldn’t be easier; you can make your own or buy some and invite your family, friends, work colleagues, neighbours, or classmates to join you. By hosting a Pancake Party at home, in school or at work you can help to give sick children the support and care they deserve while helping their families, not to mention enjoying a fun and delicious activity.
Speaking about the campaign, Head of Communications and Fundraising at The National Children’s Hospital, Lillian Mc Govern said “This is one of our major fundraisers each year and it’s a really fun one that everyone enjoys. We simply ask families, workers, schools, sports clubs etc to support us by holding fun pancake parties anywhere and everywhere. Most people have a pancake party on Pancake Tuesday anyway so why not help raise some money for a worthy cause while you’re at it.”
Lillian continued “All money raised from this year’s campaign will go directly towards updating facilities and services, improvements in wards and waiting areas at the hospital for its patients and their families. We rely heavily on support such as this and generous donations to allow us to give children from around the country the best possible care, nothing less than they deserve.”
