Super Trooper Fundraisers! Mamma Mia Fundraiser in aid of Build 4 Life

The Mardyke Entertainment Complex will host a Fabulous Mamma Mia Fundraiser in aid of Build 4 Life on Thursday 27th November at 8pm. Girls will be treated to a Private Screening of Mamma Mia! The Movie, coinciding with its DVD release; will sip cocktails on arrival; and once they are in the singing mood, they can try out the latest addition to the Mardyke, Karaoke K-Pods!

To celebrate the DVD release of the hit musical romantic comedy Mamma Mia! The Movie, Build 4 Life fundraisers teamed up with the Mardyke to organise an evening of sing-along fun in aid of this very worthy cause.

Build 4 Life was founded by friends and family of Cystic Fibrosis Patients in Cork and Kerry.  The aim of Build 4 Life is to raise awareness for Cystic Fibrosis in the region and raise over €1 million to develop Ireland's first dedicated CF treatment unit within Cork University Hospital. Cystic Fibrosis - or CF is Ireland's most common life threatening inherited disease and Ireland has the Highest Incidence Rate of Cystic Fibrosis in the World and one of the lowest life expectancy rates for CF Patients at 21. The main reason for this is the lack of dedicated Cystic Fibrosis Units throughout the country. 

Following the screening of the movie, everyone is invited to sing many of their beloved ABBA songs, such as "Dancing Queen", "S.O.S.", "Money, Money, Money" and "Take a Chance on Me" in the newly redecorated Mamma Mia Themed K-Pod upstairs in the Mardyke. K-Pods are soundproofed rooms that can accommodate up to 16 people and come complete with a built in Karaoke Screen, song databases of 5,000 songs and cordless mikes, so you can sing away to your heart's content without the worry of embarrassing yourself in front of complete strangers.

Sinead Dwane, who is organising the event on behalf of Build 4 Life said: "We have such a great fundraising team in Build 4 Life, and it's so great that we can hold a fundraiser that they can enjoy along with all their friends, while at the same time still raising funds for Build 4 Life. Mamma Mia is the perfect girlie evening, and we're all looking forward to belting out the classics in the K-Pods after the show."

Karaoke has really come back into fashion since Mamma Mia was released this summer, so we thought this event was the perfect fit for the Mardyke as we now have our newly redecorated Karaoke K-Pods so all girls can try them out."
