Successful night for Build4Life thanks to Miss Christmas in Killarney 2008

04 December 2008

The final of this years search for Miss Christmas in Killarney took place on Friday 28th November at The Killarney Avenue Hotel.

The popular event, formerly Miss Café Du Parc, was organised to raise vital funds for Build4Life, a Kerry based Charity which is fundraising to build Ireland's first Cystic Fibrosis Unit at Cork University Hospital. In total around €5,000 was raised on the night.

The event hosted by TV Personality Daithi O'Sé and Miss Kerry Helena Hanbidge, saw the gorgeous Caoimhe Clifton, representing Lynes of Killarney crowned  Miss Christmas in Killarney 2008. The audience also got an extra surprise when Caoimhe wowed them with her amazing magic tricks!

2nd prize went to Michelle O'Callaghan from JP Healy Insurances and Niamh Mangan from Kerry Phone Centres was 3rd place. Other various Killarney businesses and organisations were also represented by the other of the nineteen girls who took part. Also numerous Spot Prizes were raffled which were kindly donated by local businesses.

All the girls looked stunning thanks to Rosemary O'Connor of Renew Beauty Salon who provided the make up for the girls on the night and with a special themed Christmas Hair Show, provided by newly launched Pat O'Neill's - Style Suite, they definitely stood out too!

The organisers of the event Marie Carroll-O'Sullivan & Elaine Doyle, who represent Build4Life, wish to thank the people of Killarney for their continuous support to the Build4Life project and a massive thank you to all the girls who put themselves out there for Cystic Fibrosis, without them it would not be possible.

The search for Miss Christmas in Killarney was just one of a number of new additions to the Festival. In the coming weeks more new and exciting events and activities will be announced.  Up to the minute information can be found on www.christmasinkillarney.com
