Pancakes for UCC on Shrove Tuesday at Hayfield Manor to raise vital funds for Enable Ireland , Cork Services

23 February 2009

Staff at University College Cork will be in for a treat tomorrow on Shrove Tuesday when they enjoy a special pancake morning at the Prestigious Hayfield Manor, a stone's throw from the college. From 10:15 hungry staff will make their way up the tree lined avenue and into Perrotts Garden Bistro to enjoy a variety of sweet and savoury pancakes made by head chef Graeme Campbell and of course, morning coffee. It is hoped that those enjoying these delicious pancakes will then offer a donation to Enable Ireland, Cork Services, raising much needed funds for the Loughana Centre.

Hayfield Manor has always had a fantastic relationship with University College Cork and Pancake Tuesday Morning is their way of saying thanks for supporting the hotel over the past number of years. Their chosen charity, Enable Ireland, Cork Services, is delighted to be associated with this novel pancake morning.

Located in Ballintemple at the Lavanagh Centre, Enable Ireland, Cork, provides a range of clinical, social, educational, training and vocational support services. The charity provides an overall holistic approach which encompasses diagnosis, assessment and treatment programmes for both children and adults. The centre also provides hydrotherapy and physiotherapy programmes designed to be of practical help to service users and their families .Over the years the demand for services has grown and it is hoped that funds raised on the day will be used in the upgrading of the transport service which is vital to the children and adults attending the services.

Undoubtedly those leaving Hayfield Manor at the end of the morning will do so with a satisfied smile and the feel good factor of donating to such a worthy cause. For more information on the charity please see www.enableireland.ie
