The Jitter

The Jitter "Bug" catches on in Cork!

23 April 2009

While many businesses are putting expansion plans on hold at the moment, others are seeing opportunities in the current economic climate and creating new avenues for their products and services.  One such company is JitterBeans, a fresh food and coffee outlet which has just opened its first Cork store on Princes Street, located conveniently just off the busy South Mall and Oliver Plunkett Street.

Clonmel born brothers Michael and Vincent Pettit, who have lovingly cultivated their fresh food take-out concept over the past seven years in Dungarvan, decided to expand by opening a new store at 32 Princes Street, employing eight people.

While dining out may be on the decline, more are opting for the value take out option, especially for busy business people or shoppers who wish to get a quick bite to eat on the go.  The JitterBeans concept centres around good value fresh food that is prepared on site every day. And to emphasise the value of the offering,  JitterBeans are making sure their customers get even more value for money by introducing the "JitterCard" which offers  extra value on all purchases as well as other perks to cardholders.

JitterBean's value for money ethos is also clearly demonstrated in their 'Steal a Deal' offers where you can feast on a JB's special 'soup' and their famous Baked Cheese Crostini for only €4.95. Michael Pettit states "Feedback has been terrific already with customers thrilled to have takeout options that include a variety of fresh soups and pastas. Today alone, in our first day of trading, we have had over 600 people sign up for our JitterCard, which shows that people are interested in value as well as quality products.  While there are many food outlets to choose from in Cork City we feel we are bringing something new and different as well as offering excellent value."JitterBean's emphasis on fresh food and health is apparent even in JB's Bakers' Counter as their mouth-watering scones and savoury loaves are all lovingly homemade and compliment both Coffee and Homemade Soup Menus.  Michael is an ardent coffee lover and has adopted the purest Italian methods, with the finest Italian machines to make sure their customers get one of the best cups of coffee to be experienced in Cork.  Also, time being of the essence, especially during busy lunch hours, coffee lovers can queue separately for coffees versus food.  Finally, a word of warning!!  There is an area of JitterBeans that may require an element of self-control and that is the Hot Chocolate Menu.  It is sinfully decadent, and offers an array of tempting flavours, but you have been warned...
