No more Santa’s getting stuck up the chimney! Christmas in Killarney’s 10KM Santa Fun Run

17 November 2009

On Saturday December 19th, Christmas in Killarney are organising a fun run not only to keep all Santas in tip top shape and prepare them for their big day, but to assist with the funding of the 5th annual Christmas in Killarney Festival.Whether you run, walk or crawl, on Saturday 19th December Christmas in Killarney are calling all young and old with all levels of fitness to dust off their running shoes and join a stream of Santas and his helpers for a day of fun and Christmas banter, whilst helping to secure the continued success of the festival which is now one of the leading and most recognised Christmas Festivals in the country.

The race will start and finish at Scotts Street, taking in the Beautiful Lakes of Killarney and the Killarney National Park along the route. The registration fee of €25 includes a free Santa suit, goodie pack and entry after the race to a mega Santa party in Scotts Bar and Courtyard with delicious finger food, live music and a special appearance from Liam O'Connor.

There are also lots of spot prizes to be given away throughout the day for best dressed Santas and Santas' little helpers.

To make sure Santas' Elves have time to make everyone's Santa suits and deliver them from Lapland, Santa is encouraging everyone to register on-line at www.killarneysantarun.com as early as possible.

In the coming weeks more new and exciting Christmas in Killarney events and activities will be announced.  Details of these will be on the website www.christmasinkillarney.com. You can also join Christmas in Killarney's Facebook fan page which will keep people up to date on all the events and activities throughout the festival.
