THE MCBRIDE GALLERY PRESENTS SOLO EXHIBITION OF WORKS BY ACCLAIMED IRISH ARTIST MICK O'DEA RHA

For the first time in Kerry, the long awaited exhibition from leading Irish Artist Mick O'Dea RHA will be opened at the mcbride Gallery in Killarney and will be attended by the artist himself.

In the winter of 2004, Mick O'Dea was invited to stay at Charles Haughey's Holiday Home on Innishvickillane.  He spent almost three weeks on the Island on his own off the coast of Kerry where he captured the breathtaking scenery of this rugged landscape.

Months later the artist was invited by Mr Haughey to Abbeyville to display the results of his three week's work on the island.  Mr Haughey, although in frail health at the time, was so impressed with the collection that he bought four paintings on the spot!

Five of his paintings from the Inishvickillane collection will be part of the collection of 28 pieces that will be unveiled tomorrow night at mcbride Gallery.

Mick O'Dea will be arriving in Killarney Friday Morning and will be available for interview on request.

The Exhibition will open from 2pm with a Drinks Reception with the Artist at 7pm.
