The Big Push Off!! Show your support as Cyclists prepare for the Radio Kerry Ring of Kerry Cycle, 3rd July 2010

30 June 2010

With just a few days to go until the annual Radio Kerry Ring of Kerry Cycle 2010, which takes place on Saturday July 3rd, the organising committee are getting ready for the big day.

So far there is an amazing 3,200 participants already signed up to take part in the 112 mile leisure cycle around the picturesque Ring of Kerry, which is already far more than last year! This strong support shows why the Radio Kerry Ring of Kerry Cycle is the biggest one day fundraising activity in Munster which is good news for this year's six beneficiaries:

  • Kerry Parents and Friends Association
  • Kerry Stars Special Olympics Club
  • Recovery Haven - Comfort & Care for Cancer
  • Enable Ireland Kerry
  • Irish Wheelchair Association - Killarney/South Kerry Branch
  • • Kerry Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre

Now more than ever Kerry Charities need our support and if you haven't signed up already there are last minute registrations taking place the night before on Scotts Street from 6.30pm -9pm and also early on the day from 6am to 7.45am, at The Racecourse, Ross Rd.

Also you can help by sponsoring cyclists who are taking part to give them that extra push they need when they are putting their heart and soul into the cycle. Alternatively you can donate directly by visiting www.ringofkerrycycle.ie,  or call (064) 6671900.

There will also be a great atmosphere on the day with Colm Cooper officiating the start of the cycle, among other great Kerry GAA Stars. The official start is at 7.30am and entertainment will also be provided along the way, so come along and show your support!

Melanie O'Sullivan, Sales & Marketing Manager for Radio Kerry, who are the sponsors of this wonderful event, stated "We are featuring all of the charities each week on the Kerry Today Show with Jerry O'Sullivan and the feedback we have received from listeners has been amazing. There is an immense support out there for the cause and we are delighted to be involved."

Radio Kerry Ring of Kerry Committee member karena mccarthy, states "With the biggest turnout in our history we would advise everyone participating to adhere to the safety regulations which have been sent out and are also available on our website."

Further information on all of the Charities can be found on the Radio Kerry Ring of Kerry Cycle website www.ringofkerrycycle.ie, along with Hints and Tips for people participating.
