Women doing it for themselves! Local Kerry women open Kerry Outdoor Sports at the Killarney Outlet Centre

Three local Kerry women have decided to defy the recession and start up their own business, Kerry Outdoor Sports at the Killarney Outlet Centre, which will open tomorrow 23rd October 2010. Also as a celebration of the opening there will be many special offers available.

Eileen Daly, Aoife Smith and Sarah Seery decided to open the store when they were made redundant at a previous outdoor sports store that eventually closed down.

Sarah states, "We were made redundant at the end of August 2010 and when we got our months notice we started joking about winning the lotto and opening our own shop! Through encouragement from friends and family, and from customers who've dealt with us over the years, we decided that all jokes aside we should go for it!"

Being outdoor enthusiasts the girls felt strongly about staying involved in such an area as Eileen goes on to state, "We are so enthusiastic about Kerry Outdoor Sports and the outdoor industry in general as we all love to go rock-climbing, hill walking, kayaking, running, skiing, ice-climbing and rowing in our spare time. We also use the products we are selling so we have first-hand experience and our expertise can't be brought."

The store also hopes to take on further staff over the Christmas period which will create more jobs.
