This selected group show may well be titled the ‘Limerick' artists show, as all of the artists were either born, have lived or live in Limerick city and county. A common thread they each share is the Limerick School of Art & Design, where Harper has headed the department of Fine Art. Each artist is incredibly well collected and represented on the contemporary Irish art scene.
This exhibition will be Mcbride Gallery's first Invited artist's selected show.
Mcbride Art gallery is a dynamic art gallery located centrally in Killarney Co. Kerry. The Mcbride Gallery exhibits Irish artists who have achieved innovation and excellence, such as formal education, exhibitions in noted high-art spaces or critical acclaim from collectors, critics and their peers. The gallery was developed by collector Mary Mcbride and entrepreneur Alice Kelliher; with advice provided by renowned collectors of Irish art, Mr. George + Mrs. Maura McClelland. The gallery is managed by Joanne McCarthy, BA Fine Art (Limerick School of Art & Design), MA History of Art & Architecture (University of Limerick).
I’m not sure who the first person was to coin that phrase about Simon Harris our new Taoiseach but it certainly is “stuck” onto him now. When the phrase is used do you think it is me...
