Let the Networking Begin! – Autumn Schedule for Network Cork with Guest Speaker Norah Casey, from Dragon’s Den and Harmonia Publications

Network Cork's first gathering post the summer will be held on Wednesday 7th September at Maryborough House Hotel & Spa.

The guest speaker will be Norah Casey from Harmonia Publications and Dragon's Den.  From her experience running some of the top women’s magazines in the country to her work with start-up and fledgling businesses every business women in Cork will have something to learn from this evening.

The evening will begin at 6:15pm with informal networking among members and guests with Norah taking to the Podium at approx 7pm.  Vice President of Network Cork, Rebecca Birchill stated "The summer has just flown by and we are all looking forward to our first meeting of the Autumn, so we can catch up with each other get business inspiration and shrewd advice from Norah on her career in publishing and the ups and downs of running her own business in the new economic reality.  Many of us within Network are looking to new markets and it will be interesting to hear Norah’s insights into doing business abroad and bringing those learning back home to Ireland."

Having run many successful publishing companies in London, Norah bought her own business in 2004 with a strong portfolio of brands and events in Ireland, the USA and more recently in China. In Ireland she publishes a range of market leading magazines including strong women's brands, Irish Tatler, Woman's Way, U and specialist titles Food&Wine, Auto Ireland and Ireland of the Welcomes (aimed at the Irish Diaspora with over 80,000 USA-based subscribers).

Norah is a member of the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board, the London-based Women's Irish Network and The International Women's Forum. She was awarded The Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year Award for 2007/8 and has won The Publisher of the Year Award in 2006. 2007 & 2008.

This event is just one of a series that is being planned on a monthly basis for the Autumn and most events are free to Members.  Guests are invited to attend at the nominal charge of €25 per person.
