KILLARNEY HAIR STYLISTS SHORTLISTED FOR 2012 IRISH HAIR PHOTOGRAPHIC AWARDS

Two stylists from the Sean Taaffe Hair & Beauty Group have been been shortlisted for awards at the upcoming 2012 Irish Hair Photographic Awards. The announcement comes as an honour as these awards recognise the best local creative talent amongst the highest standards within the hairdressing industry.

Susan Barry from ST2, The Reeks in Killarney has been selected as a finalist in the men's category while Kara Connolly, also from ST2, has been shortlisted for the alternative Hair 2012 visionary award, the winner of which will go on to represent Ireland at the International Visionary Awards during the Alternative Hair Show, being held in London later this year.

The 2012 Award winners will be announced at Ireland's annual premier independent hair event, which takes place July 15th at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin. The best images will also be entered by the Irish Hairdresser Magazine into the AIPP Grand Trophy Awards in Paris. 

The Irish Photographic Hair Awards were established in 2002 by Irish Hairdresser International magazine and now in its eleventh year, has grown from four categories to eleven, becoming one of the most prestigious events in the Irish Hairdressing Calendar.

The awards cover a range of categories including: Best Colour Image, Best Editorial Image, Best Avant Garde Image, Best Men's Image, Best Fashion Image, Best Commercial Image, Best Bridal Image, Best Long Hair Image.

Speaking after the shortlisted categories were announced, Sean Taaffe, said; " This is a huge honour for the Group and a credit to Susan and Kara who have been recognised amongst the best stylists in the country. They both go above and beyond, constantly striving to excel at what they do."

Since opening, Sean Taaffe Hair & Beauty in Killarney has won many awards including the Scwarzkopf Munster Salon of the Year 2009 and Munster Trainee of the Year 2011. 

Last year marked the opening of ST2, the Group's second Killarney outlet and' Barber' in Killorglin, the company's first dedicated men's salon, bringing to four the number of salons under the Sean Taaffe umbrella. 2011 also saw the opening of the Sean Taaffe Hair Academy by Aisling Madigan, the group's new training college for up and coming stylists.
