FINALISTS ANNOUNCED FOR THE 2013 SAMSUNG Digital Media Awards.

The innovative Samsung Digital Media Awards today announced the finalists for the 2013 Awards.   

 

 

The prestigious award ceremony, which will be hosted by comedian and Après Match star, Barry Murphy, is set to take place on Friday, 1 March, 2012 at the Convention Centre, Dublin.   

 

 

The Samsung Digital Media Awards celebrate and showcase Ireland’s passion for digital media. Created in 2003 and now in their 10th year, the Awards offer a platform for the dynamic work taking place across the broad spectrum of digital media in Ireland and abroad.

Most of Ireland’s greatest digital media innovators and adaptors will be gathered together for one of the biggest industry nights in Ireland and we are delighted to be playing our part in recognizing the enormous talent that we have in Ireland in the digital arena.”   

 

 

With 25 categories split into four distinct sections, Industry, Campaign, Craft & Technique and Industry Leaders, the range and the variety of digital businesses involved has grown exponentially and a total of 10 new categories have been added for 2013, reflecting the ongoing evolution of the digital media sector.     

 

The new categories include: Best Retail Campaign, Best Online Advertising Campaign, Best Digital Media Agency, Best Design/Art Direction and Best Digital Creative Agency.    

 

The “Best Integrated Digital Campaign” category saw 25 entries and was shortlisted to 7 finalists. The Best Use of Social Media category drew 20 entries.    

 

Commenting on the finalists, Event Director Tracey Carney said: "Since 2003 the Digital Media Awards have been the industry barometer by which standards are set and exceeded and this year sees the biggest number of entries ever.”Tracey added “As ever there is an impressive line-up of judges on hand to determine the winning projects, including industry experts from Facebook, Google, Dublin City University, Samsung and many more leading Irish companies.”  

 

 Projects shortlisted for the 2013 awards stem from a diverse range of innovative companies including: Wolfgang Digital, AIB, Cybercom, Bright Spark Consulting, eightwenty, Mindshare Media and Blue Cube.
