Leading IT supplier to the drinks industry, Wellington IT Solutions, is pleased to announce details of two new contracts secured, with a combined initial value of €700,000. Amongst the companies who have recently teamed up with the Belfast headquartered IT specialist are Contract People and Fox Trading.

Since its foundation in 1983, Wellington IT Solutions has grown as a specialist IT supplier to the drinks industry, firmly establishing itself as the leading IT partner to some of the most prestigious drinks companies in Ireland, and the new contracts add to an already impressive client portfolio. Originating from the computing arm of Guinness and now dealing with many household brands, Wellington IT customers typically see a return on investment within 24 months.

One of the companies involved, Contract People has signed a new contract to use Wellington IT's warehouse management system, Stock-IT. Over the coming months Wellington will be working with Contract People to implement the system for their outsourced Guinness Quality Team contract, with the aim of improving efficiency and strengthening product traceability as the team carry out their duties. Formed in 1995, Contract People today manages many sales and merchandising projects for some of Ireland's leading brand management companies, and Stock-IT will now play a vital part in helping the company provide the highest standards of service possible.

Wellington has also strengthened relationships with Fox International through the winning of a new project with Fox Trading, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fox International. This project will involve the replacement of the three current systems in Fox owned companies across Jersey and Guernsey, to amalgamate them into Wellington's core ERP system. Fox Trading imports a wide range of global brands which include confectionery, soft drinks, and toiletries, and distributes to over 1,000 outlets in the Channel Island market place. The business is also the Channel Islands' distributor for global tobacco manufacturers such as British American Tobacco, Philip Morris, Japan Tobacco International, Hunters & Frankau, Agio, Villiger and Davidoff.

Combined, over the next five years, the recent new contracts have a potential value to Wellington IT Solutions of €1.6m, and as part of continuous success across the business, has already created ten new jobs in Wellington's Belfast and Dublin offices. The new positions have been created in the areas of software development, software testing, and software implementation.

Speaking about the latest developments, Kevin Bradley, FMCG Sales and Marketing Manager at Wellington IT Solutions said "It has been an exciting and busy period for Wellington in recent times. Over the past 6 years we have witnessed some very tough trading conditions for the Irish drinks market. During this time we have provided our customers with the tools to help them successfully trade through a low margin market. I am delighted to see these shoots of growth. Many leading companies are now looking to advanced IT to help grow their business and capitalise on current opportunities and this is where we can provide the greatest insight".
