Sober Snapchat? New Dublin bar Sober Lane invites CVs through Snapchat!

Sober Lane, a new innovative bar opening in Dublin this July, has already shaken things up by inviting the public to apply for 20 new jobs now on offer through popular social media app, ‘Snapchat’.

 

This unconventional approach is a unique idea that has never been done before and it comes as no surprise that Sober Lane is the first to introduce it as the brand is well-known for its quirky personality and ingenious ideas.

 

Sober Lane is already an established brand in Cork and has made its mark as one of the most popular and famous bars in Cork City, having introduced a wacky ‘flip the coin’ concept where customers engage in a coin toss with the barman to see if they can win another round of drinks completely free, as well as lots of other fun games. Sober Lane will bring its ‘flip the coin’ concept to the Dublin venue, along with their renowned pizzas and in-house entertainer Pat Fitz.

 

Successful entrepreneur and owner of Sober Lane, Ernest Cantillon explains what makes Sober Lane different and where the idea of using Snapchat to recruit staff came from “Sober Lane is not like any other bar in the city, we are an original and fun loving bar that breaks the rules and doesn’t conform to the norm. We have 20 new jobs up for grabs at the moment and Snapchat appeals directly to Sober Lane’s target market who communicate primarily through social media, so it made sense to use it. Recruitment agencies, CVs, references etc. are boring so we thought that accepting applications through Snapchat would be a fun way to recruit our new team which we hope will consist of some more of life's winners to keep the legend alive.”

 

Snapchat is currently growing at a rapid rate and is creeping up on social media giants Facebook and Twitter as Ireland reportedly now has 43% of 14-24 year olds using the Snapchat app on a daily basis. Snapchat is a message sharing app which allows users to send an image or short video with text to their contacts, the message then automatically deletes within 10 seconds of the user opening the message.

Sober Lane is located in Irishtown, Dublin 4 and will officially open its doors on Wednesday 16th July.
