Nova Broadband announce expansion into Limerick and Tipperary

16 July 2014

Nova Broadband has today announced that it will be expanding its number one rated broadband service into Limerick and Tipperary, bringing high quality broadband facilities into low-density urban and rural areas that have poor service to date.

The announcement identifies Croom, Hospital, Bruff, Killmallock, Bruree and Emly as the first areas to receive the much anticipated service. The initial expansion phase of coverage will cover an area of approximately 300 square Km North from the Ballyhoura Mountains.

As of next week, these areas will be the first to have access to the reliable high speed broadband facilities. However, Nova Broadband has plans to increase coverage in both counties in the near future following the roll out of this pilot phase.

Speaking about the expansion MD of Nova Broadband Dave Mc Donald says, “We are busy finishing the current phase of our rollout into North Cork and South Limerick and Tipperary. This ‘Polaris’ project has brought 20M broadband to new areas and uptake has been so strong that before we even get to the end of the rollout area, we are adding new capacity to the start of the rollout area! We believe that we are in a unique position with our popular fixed-wireless service to address the deficit in real broadband for rural dwellers. We are already in the planning stages for the next project which will see 3,500 square Km of coverage added in the second part of the year.”

Nova Broadband is located in Harbour Point Business Park, in Little Island, Cork and is dedicated to providing high-quality, reliable broadband services to both business and residential customers in the Munster region. Due to a phenomenally high demand for their service, this announcement is the first step in its current expansion plans.
