    Following on from reports this week that Customs are now only seizing one in every 25 cigarettes smuggled into this country, packaging stalwart Mike Ridgway says introducing plain packaging here will only further weaken the war on tobacco smuggling.

    Plans for a new lease of life for the historic 18th century site of the South Presentation Convent and School were unveiled at an event today, Friday 21st February, hosted in the old South Presentation School Hall on Douglas Street, Cork. South Presentation Centre, which will now be known as Nano Nagle Place, is the iconic birthplace of the Presentation Congregation founded by Ireland’s first global social entrepreneur Nano Nagle, “The Lady of the Lantern” on Christmas Eve in 1775.

    The team from Manor West Retail Park today presented their chosen charities Enable Ireland and Kerry Palliative Care Unit with a cheque for €400 each. A staff table quiz was held on December 3rd at the Manor West Hotel in aid of both charities where the total was raised. The total amount of €800 was split equally between both charities and will be put to great use to benefit people in the local Kerry area.
