Irish credit union members can now enjoy an extended range of financial services, following the launch of a new suite of software products for the credit union industry today.
Wellington IT, a leading supplier of advanced banking software solutions for Irish credit unions, has officially launched its ‘CU’ range of products, which includes online banking, an iphone/android app, ATM facilities, automated SMS alerts and now same day payments clearing throughout the Single European Payments Area.
The new services mean that Irish consumers now have a real alternative option to Irish banks in their local credit union, a long established and trusted financial institution used by nearly 3 million people in Ireland.
The cuOnline banking functionality and cuAnywhere smartphone app give customers access to their accounts from anywhere in the world, allowing them, for the first time ever, to transfer money, check balances and communicate directly with their local credit union.Additional functions such as same day payments clearing actually put credit unions at the forefront relative to some banks, which often still take up to three working days to process cheque lodgements, transfer wages and other payments between financial institutions.
Some credit unions have also adopted Wellington’s ATM and debit card functionality, which allows customers to use their Credit Union Debit card to pay for purchases in retail outlets as they would with any regular debit card.
