Leading Cork financial planning company City Life will fly the Cork flag at the 3rd annual Irish Brokers Association (IBA) Life Pension & Investment (LPI) Awards on Thursday, 31st March in the Mansion House, Dublin, having been shortlisted in ‘Best Financial Planning Firm’ category.

City Life is the only firm outside of Dublin which has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Financial Planning Firm’ category at the prestigious event which recognises the excellence, professionalism and expertise of Brokers, and their dedication to maintaining high standards in the Irish market.

Speaking upon receiving the news of making the shortlist, Eamon Dwyer, Managing Director of City Life said “It is a great honour to be the only Cork company, and indeed the only company from outside the capital, shortlisted for this award. It is a testament to our team at City Life, which understands and interprets our clients’ needs and works with them year after year to help them achieve their financial goals.”

“We have a clear, transparent approach to looking after clients, which relies on our expert advice and ongoing support,” explained Eamon. “When a client of ours decides to seek advice or a financial product from us, they do so because they want to deal with qualified and articulate people, who understand their personal goals and who strive to look after them for many years.”

Founded in Cork in 1971, City Life looks after clients throughout Ireland, and aims to offer an independent, alternative approach to personal finance, be it retirement funding and succession, investing or personal protection against financial risk. The firm opened its first non Cork based operation in Galway in 2011 and this business has replicated the Cork business model successfully. Between the two companies, City Life employs 20 people across the two companies and has assets under advice of approximately €210 million.

Founding director of City Life, Ted Dwyer was last year presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the LPI Awards. A steadfast in the financial advisory landscape in Ireland, Ted founded City Life in 1971 and 45 years after starting out on his business journey, Ted’s successful family business has evolved with his son Eamon now running the business. Despite the horrendous economic crash since 2008, the business has thrived, and with a lot of diligent and very careful work the team have steered their way through the recession, protecting and improving the financial position of its clients.

In total, 12 award winners representing the best advisory companies in Ireland, will be named at the LPI Awards ceremony on Thursday, 31st March in the Mansion House, Dublin. For more information on the awards see http://lpiawards.ie/ and for more information on City Life visit www.citylife.ie.
