Regus, the world’s leading provider of flexible workplaces, has announced today that it will cater for the increased need for flexible workspaces in Cork with the opening of its 12th location in Ireland.

Regus’ centre in Phoenix House on Monahan Road will incorporate up to 15% of co-working space, the only such innovative space in Cork dedicated to providing a more collaborative and creative working atmosphere than a traditional office environment.

It is expected to attract a wide variety of business users from local small businesses, start-ups, remote workers to large corporate customers both national and international who want to open satellite offices in Cork’s tech hub and to establish and grow their footprint in Ireland.

As well as co-working space, its new centre in Cork will also have 50 offices, meeting rooms, state-of-the-art technology including video conferencing facilities and it will add to Regus’ global network across 120 countries.

General Manager at Regus, Emmet Foley said: "We are delighted to announce the opening of our new centre in Cork which marks another step in our expansion across Ireland. The Phoenix House centre is an exciting addition to our network at City Gate, the demand for which has been so strong with a high level of occupancy since it opened in 2008. Phoenix House will offer a new strategic, professional and city centre address to companies of all sizes, no matter their activities or stage of development.”

A study recently carried out by Regus found that 87% believe that co-working spaces offer great networking opportunities and flexibility.

According to Emmet Foley, “Our study found that 76% of workers in Ireland thought that flexible working made employees more productive, and 71% said it fostered creative thinking which is why we are delighted to bring the co-working office space to Cork.”

Regus is the new anchor tenant of the €20 million commercial development Phoenix House measuring 100,000 sq ft in size.

Regus chose Phoenix House as the location for its new Cork office due to its high quality and spacious build as well as its close proximity to the city centre (7 minute walk), location to main bus routes (3 minute walk).

The move will see Regus double its footprint in Cork by adding to its City Gate operations. Regus’ other centres are located in Dublin and Limerick.
