To help ease this year’s Christmas shopping experience, award winning artisan butcher James Whelan Butchers are offering ‘Christmas delivered to your door’ with a selection of award-winning festive meats, hampers and gift ideas available for delivery nationwide.

From their local Tipperary-reared Free Range Turkeys and signature range of smoked, cured and traditional Irish Hams, to Beef Bonds and Salt-Aged Hampers, these award winning products make an ideal gift for loved ones, colleagues or clients who would appreciate the gift of great food.

Earlier this year James Whelan Butchers introduced a Local Delivery Service, to assist people living within a 15km radius of one of their 10 shops, who for whatever reason were unable to visit their nearest James Whelan Butchers shop in person. For Christmas, the Local Delivery Service offer will include products from the Christmas collection, for families of two or four, who may be cocooning or for whatever reason would prefer to shop from the comfort of their own home this year.

All other orders can be placed online through the National Delivery Service, for delivery to your door on December 23rd, just in time for the big day, but as more people than ever are shopping online this year, the team at James Whelan Butchers advise booking early to guarantee that precious Christmas delivery.

As always, orders can also be made in one of the 10 James Whelan Butcher shops across the country, where an allocated collection date and time will be given to ensure ease of shopping.

CEO Pat Whelan said “The festive season is a very special time for food producers in Ireland. This year, we have all faced extraordinary and unprecedented times and I think both retailers and customers alike are looking forward to Christmas now more than ever before. We are delighted to support our customers any way we can and are privileged to be included in your most important meal of the year!”

Pat continued, “Giving the gift of great food is an extremely thoughtful gift which we believe will be even more important this year. A personal and very special thank you to clients and staff, or a thoughtful gift for a loved one when we can’t celebrate the Christmas season in person.”

Festive meats include James Whelan’s Whole Free Range Turkey, or Boneless Turkey Crown - that are reared naturally and allowed to roam freely on the lush pastures of the Golden Vale in Co. Tipperary. The Turkeys are grown naturally over a longer period of time (6 months) which enhances the flavour of the meat and allows their Turkeys to develop a more intense flavour.

Another favourite is James Whelan’s signature whole Heritage Cure Irish Ham that is cured on the bone and has a distinctive flavour with a hint of smoky hickory undertones. It is ideal for carving and makes a spectacular presentation at any dinner table. This ham received a coveted 3 Stars at this year’s Great Taste Awards with judges describing the meat as, “a magnificent looking joint of truly epic proportions. The smokey aroma is irresistibly seductive whilst the sweet, succulent, juicy meat is a joy to eat!”

This year James Whelan Butchers also have an incredible selection of Salt-Aged hampers, that would make an excellent corporate gift to reward employees, a special thank you to clients or to share with loved ones.  The hampers include prime cuts of meat that are aged in a special Himalayan Salt Chamber for 35 days, a process that results in an incredibly delicious meat with a unique flavour and texture like no other. There are four Michelin star quality hampers to choose from, exclusive to James Whelan Butchers: The Salt-Aged Works, The Salt Aged Variety Box, The Salt Aged Steak Box and The Salt Aged Rack, that include cuts such as Salt Aged Ribeye Steaks, Côte de boeuf,  Lamb Racks and Sugar Pit Bacon.

James Whelan Butchers advise to place orders early this year, to ensure delivery and collection times. To view the James Whelan Christmas brochure, to place orders, and find out more about James Whelan Butchers visit www.jameswhelanbutchers.com.
