"Tried and Tested" is a new Cork based sitcom created by aspiring Cork comedy writers Brendan Canty and Alan Owens. The pilot episode entitled ‘I Like Rock’ will be screened at The Pavilion on Friday 9th April, with all proceeds going to "Help Us To Help Haiti". "Tried and Tested" is a silly deadpan comedy based around two young Cork guys Alan and Emmett (played by Alan Owens and Emmett O’Riambhaigh) who are infatuated with their housemate Zoey (played by Alison Arnopp). In the pilot episode ‘I Like Rock’, Zoey shows a newfound interest in rock music. In an attempt to impress Zoey, Alan and Emmett pretend to be rockstars – a plan which seems to be going well for them until their lies land them on stage in front of a crowd! The comedy is inspired by the deadpan style of Flight of the Conchords fused with the Irish silliness of Father Ted and the IT Crowd and the structure of Seinfeld."Help Us To Help Haiti" is an appeal by Sinéad Noonan and Red FM’s Paul Dollery who will be travelling to Haiti in October with the Haven Partnership ‘Build It Week’ to build homes. After the devastating earthquake in January, Haven are aiming to build 300 houses across Haiti this year. Volunteers will live on site in basic accommodation, and will take part in all activities that go into the running of the camp, as well as the construction of the new homes: roofing, plumbing, painting, medical, catering, water distribution, etc.   For further information on this appeal visit www.helpustohelphaiti.comThe screening will take place at The Pavilion April 9th starting at 9pm.
