Getting ready for the Satellite Broadband Ireland Digital Media Awards

The organisers of the Satellite Broadband Ireland Digital Media Awards today took delivery of the 2011 trophies that will be presented at the gala ceremony on 11 February at The Convention Centre Dublin.  The awards, to be presented by well known journalist Mark Little, recognise the best in creative, innovative and pioneering digital talent in Ireland.

Some of the best known campaigns of the year have made it to the final for brands as diverse as Audi, Heineken, Sony, Berocca, An Post and Meteor.  CKSK Studios achieved the most nominations with 22 and other organisations nominated include ICAN, Cybercom, 3, RTE and the Irish Film Board.

This year saw a record number of entries received and with 20 categories including Best Digital Start-up, Best Online News and Best Social Media, the range and variety of those to be rewarded in the digital landscape is all inclusive.  There have been three new award categories added in order to reflect the changes in the digital media sector. They are the User Experience Award, Best in Gaming and Best New Application.

Commenting on the announcement of the short-list, Kevin Ryan, CEO of Satellite Broadband Ireland said: "The caliber of all the entries this year for the Digital Media Awards was extremely high and this is clearly evident with the finalists that made it through. I also feel strongly that with the challenges and constraints everybody is enduring, both professionally and personally, it’s fair to say that the digital media industry in Ireland is reaching new pinnacles.”
