Manor West Gets Flipping for Charity In aid of Build4Life

10 February 2012

Build4Life spokesperson Joe Brown stated “We are always looking for novel ways to raise awareness and vital funds for people with CF in Kerry and were delighted when Manor West approached us with this fund raising event.  Everyone loves pancakes and on Sunday 19th we can all enjoy some really great recipes, cooked by Kerry’s finest chefs as well as Clodagh McKenna.”

Clodagh will be at the Centre giving cooking demonstrations on how to make the perfect pancake in easy steps for even the most culinary challenged of us. Clodagh will give her hints and tricks on how to make the perfect pancake so they won’t be a flop and also be giving alternative recipes for the old faithful pancake.

Along with her cooking demonstration Clodagh will be the all important judge of the Flip Off. The Flip off will invite top chefs from hotels and restaurants in Kerry to compete for the prestigious title of Flipper of the Year. Hotels and restaurants participating are Manor West Hotel, Ballygarry Hotel, Randles Court Hotel, Yogies Frozen Yogurt Bar Manor West, Jacks’ Coastguard Restaurant in Killorglin, The Style Restaurant Manor West and QC’s Seafood Restaurant in Caherciveen.

Each chef will have their own unique pancake with a range of fillings and they will be on sale on the day with all proceeds going directly to Build4Life.

Derek Rusk, Centre Manager, is delighted to be hosting the event at Manor West and says “We are especially delighted that so many of the top hotels and restaurants from around the county have agreed to participate.   It is a great way to get the community involved in a fun day out which is all in aid of a well deserving cause” and adds “We hope to make it an annual event in aid of the chosen Manor West Charity of the Year.

There will also be surprises on the day, with activities for kids, giveaways and special offers.  For further information visit Manor West’s facebook page or
