Network Cork – March 2012 Event Guest Speaker Joan Freeman – Founder Pieta House

27 February 2012

The speaker for the March Network Cork event which takes place on Wednesday 7th March, at 6:15pm at the Maryborough House Hotel, has just been announced as Joan Freeman, founder of Pieta House.  Pieta House is the ground breaking suicide and self-harm crisis centre, which is the only organisation in the country providing a professional, face to face, free of charge therapeutic service for people in the acute stages of distress.

As well as talking about the work of Pieta House and her dedication to the prevention of suicide, Joan will also be sharing her experiences of becoming an award winning business women by developing a Charity that has made a difference to so many people.

Network Cork President Rebecca Birchall stated “The benefits of this event are many.  We are privileged to have a firsthand account from an award winning business woman on how a brand is developed into a household name.  With suicide on the rise in Ireland it is important that we are all more aware of the signs and the help that is out there.  Joan through her work with Pieta House is an inspiration and I think everyone will come away with something from the event.”

The event is part of a series of an eclectic mix of events and activities planned for 2012 by Network Cork for its members.  All of the events are designed to encourage learning, connections and personal development for members.

Rebecca added “Network Cork is part of a national organisation, Network Ireland, and Cork has the largest membership of any branch in the country and is growing constantly. It’s great to see so many new faces at the events each month.  The new members bring fresh ideas and life into the organisation.  Also we are seeing a record number of new businesses joining Network Cork.  They see it as an effective platform to promote their businesses and make new business contacts.”

For further information on joining Network Cork, please visit www.networkcork.com.  Admission to the event is free to members and there are a limited number of spaces available to non members at the cost of €25 per person.  Space is limited so anyone wishing to attend should log on to www.networkcorkmarch.eventbrite.ie  to reserve a place.
