Santa to Return to His Favourite Holiday Destination this December!

16 November 2012

Killarney is making preparations to welcome a very high profile visitor once again this December.

Following his hugely successful pre-Christmas break last year, Santa Claus is currently saddling up the sleigh and will arrive in Killarney on December 1st, along with Mrs Claus, Bernard the Elf and all of his other wonderful little helpers.  And once again, he will be opening the doors to his magical Christmas village, which will feature all the favourites from last year and some fantastic new additions.

Located in a new, larger indoor venue on Main Street, the Christmas village offers an extraordinary experience for the whole family that will be remembered long after the holiday season ends! New additions this year include a skating pond, snowball throwing contests, Reindeer Chair-O-Plane, the Elves puppet show and Christmas slide and much much more!

The village will also see the return of last year’s favourites including the tour of Santa’s holiday cottage where children can visit Mrs. Claus’ Gingerbread kitchen and taste some of her delicious homemade cookies; pop by the Elves’ toy workshop, to see presents for all the little boys and girls being made; and of course, visitors will be granted top secret access to Santa’s all important communications room where kids can track his flight plan around the world on Christmas Eve!

While waiting to meet Santa his house guests can try on his boots and belt on for size.  His cottage is also where he keeps his naughty or nice book and children can have a look to see if he knows what they want for Christmas.

Visitors to the Christmas village can also enjoy the food and beverage stalls serving delicious festive treats such as dark and white hot chocolate, roasted cinnamon chestnuts, French crepes, Christmas hot fruit punch and eggnog, plus toasted marshmallow and strawberry skewers for dipping in chocolate.

This year, Head Elf Bernard is asking all the visiting children to bring a gift to the village which Santa will deliver to less privileged children this Christmas.  Each child can load their present onto Santa’s sleigh and then climb aboard for a picture with their family.

A trip to Santa’s Christmas Village in Killarney, winner of Ireland’s Best Christmas Town in 2011, is a treat for the whole family and a magical experience which children will never forget.

The village can be explored by the general public free of charge  and tours of Santa’s holiday cottage including a meeting with the man himself can be booked online at www.santasvillage.ie  Due to the huge demand of last year pre booking is strongly advised.

Tickets for the tour cost €15 per child and €10 per adult.  Visit the website for booking times and further details and information.
