Each #underthetree tweet in the run up to Christmas will bring SPAR closer to a fully lit Christmas tree live online and a massive National Children’s Hospital donation.

Roz Purcell was on hand today to help SPAR officially launch its second innovative #underthetree twitter campaign which will raise up to €20,000 for The National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght. The unique campaign is powered by tweets using the #underthetree hashtag, with the convenience retailer asking people to get involved and help them light up their Christmas tree, while also helping to raise much needed funds for the hospital.

This year, the SPAR Twitter Tree will be hosted online, where the lights will be turned on with every #underthetree tweet received. Once all the lights are turned on, SPAR will make the donation of €20,000 to The National Children’s Hospital, celebrating the first anniversary of their official charity partnership.

Speaking about the partnership and the festive campaign, The National Children’s Hospital, Head of Communications, Lillian Mc Govern said “The #underthetree campaign is a fantastic festive campaign that helps raise vital funds for The National Children’s Hospital. We rely heavily on support and donations and want to thank SPAR for their very generous donation. We’re encouraging people to get involved and tweet #underthetree, and the money donated will allow us to give children from around the country the best possible care and a fantastic Christmas, nothing less than they deserve.”

The SPAR Twitter Tree is live online to view on www.spar.ie up until the 30th of December.
