At a time when the political landscape of Ireland has completely changed and social and economic change is all around us, Marie Harty, owner of Lisboa Boutique, formerly of 39 Maylor St, is making some changes of her own. Marie has just moved her beautiful boutique to a brand new premise at 127 Oliver Plunkett Street, Cork.
Marie's dream is to bring a boutique feel to Oliver Plunkett St which has an abundance of quirky boutiques, bistros and bars. Lisboa will certainly add to this Cork Fashion Strip and already footfall to the store has increased with curious fashion lovers browsing through the current summer collection.
What will remain unchanged is the theme of "Classic with a Twist" and popular designers such as By Malene Birger, Hoss, Aideen Bodkin and Tara Jarmon, as well as other unique finds are now in store. To celebrate this stylish new move a Summer Sale will take place over the next few weeks,with up to 50% off most items, including the Summer 09 collections.
Shoes, accessories and bags as well as hats from Canadian Designer Opelie are also available in the store, making it a one stop fashion boutique and an extremely pleasant shopping experience. Always looking for new collections, Marie has just added UK jewellery brand Tutti & Co with timeless and feminine pieces to the collection in store.
In keeping with the challenging economic climate Marie is planning on some more changes to the Boutique by opening a "Vintage at Lisboa Selection" upstairs. Marie is currently looking for people to submit their vintage designer clothes, bags and accessories. She will personally select the items for inclusion in this designer selection and the person who owns the item will receive 50% of the selling price, once the item is sold.
Marie states"Lisboa Boutique has been in Cork for over three years. We are known for clothes that are a little different and for labels that are exclusive to Cork. Because of this we have built up a very loyal and growing clientele. I always wanted to be on Oliver Plunkett St as I felt that even though our loyal customers sought us out, there were other fashion lovers out there who were missing out. I felt that a change of location was right for us. It's a bold and a brave decision but this was always my dream and I'm delighted to be achieving it, even in such challenging times."
