New Maxi Store opens on Dublin Northside following major Equipet acquisition

A new Maxi Zoo store has opened its doors in Coolock Retail Park this week. Maxi Zoo in Coolock, the first of Maxi Zoo’s new rebranded stores as a result of its acquisition of Equipet, opened its doors to customers on Monday, February 14th. 

 

The Northside store has undergone an extensive rebrand in recent weeks with a range of Maxi Zoo’s exclusive products being added to the shelves, along with a state of the art Maxi Zoo dog grooming salon.

 

Late last year, Maxi Zoo announced the acquisition of Equipets eight stores and its online shop. 

 

With over 1,600 stores across Europe, Maxi Zoo is the leading specialty retailer for animal food and accessories, offering exclusive brands, personal consultations for pet owners and the most extensive product range with over 8,000 products.

 

The acquisition will enable the Irish subsidiary of the Fressnapf Group to accelerate future growth with an expanded and geographically enlarged store network. 

 

According to Enrico De Luca, Country Manager of Maxi Zoo Ireland, the new stores and online shop will allow the company to reach and satisfy many more customers in Ireland.

As a result of the acquisition, Maxi Zoo Ireland now has a combined retail network of 29 stores nationwide, 285 employees and an online store. 

 

Maxi Zoo will celebrate the opening of its new Coolock store with a Spend and Save Incentive from 25th - 27th, which will also include a live broadcast with FM104 on Sat 26th Feb, with their roadsters in hand giving out goodie bags for customers. 

 

Maxi Zoo’s exciting expansion forms part of the retailer’s most pivotal period of growth to achieve its goal of doubling its annual turnover of more than €30 million in the medium term year and to service its loyal and growing customer base across Ireland.
