AN TÁNAISTE EAMON GILMORE, T.D. TO VISIT CORK AS GUEST OF HONOUR FOR THE 5TH ANNUAL MSL CORK BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2012

Tánaiste, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Leader of the Labour Party, Eamon Gilmore, T.D. has just confirmed that he will be the Guest of Honour at this year’s annual MSL Cork Business Person of the Year Awards 2012, which will take place on Friday 9th of November at the Imperial Hotel, Cork at 12pm.

Now in its 5th year, the MSL Cork Business Person of the Year Awards is a business awards initiative in conjunction with its corporate sponsors MSL Cork. MSL Cork is a Mercedes-Benz dealership based in Eastgate which is part of the MSL Motor Group, one of Ireland’s leading motor groups. The awards are in recognition of the achievements of twelve well established Cork business people, picked monthly over the last year. This year’s nominees are Teddy Barry, Owner of New Furniture Centre, Colette Twomey, Managing Director of Clonakilty Food Company, Brendan Manning, Managing Director of Occasions, Mary Hopkins, Director of Hopkins Communications, Dan Kiely, Founder and CEO of VoxPro, Jacqueline O’ Farrell, Owner and Director of Grove Health Spa, Dr Michael Martin, Creator of the Titanic Experience, Mick Hannigan, Director and CEO of the Corona Film Festival, Gillian Keating, Vice-President of Cork Chamber, Kevin Baird, CEO of Fota House and Irish Heritage Trust, Colum O’ Sullivan and Cullen Allen, Co-Founder of Cully & Sully and Declan O’ Connell, Owner of Lee Travel Travel Agents.

An overall winner will be selected from the twelve entries and presented with The MSL Cork Business Person of the Year Award 2012 at the event. Previous winners of the overall award have included Jim Barry, Managing Director of the Barry Group, in 2011 and Managing Director of Barry & Fitzwilliam, Michael Barry in 2010.

The Organiser of the awards, Michael Mulcahy stated “I am delighted that An Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore, T.D is able to attend the 2012 MSL Cork Business Person of the Year Awards as our Guest of Honour. The aim of the awards is to celebrate the achievements of businesses in Cork and in particular these awards acknowledge the business person and their ability to lead and manage their businesses.”
