The Special Advocate Office was set up to support Survivors and Affected Persons of Institutional Abuse including Industrial and Reformatory School Institutions, Magdalene Laundries, Mother and Baby Home Institutions, People fostered or boarded out as children, and those trafficked overseas for the purpose of adoption. They meet with and speak to Survivors and Affected Persons to hear their interests, issues and their lived experiences related to the legacy of institutional trauma and forced family separation. Their aim is to present the collective issues and experiences of those she meets with to government and to amplify the voices of Survivors and Affected Persons as a central role in key projects.
Our concept for the Brand Identity was based on three principles – Amplification of Voices, Transparency & Trust, and Coming Together as a United Front. These are reflected in the Brand Mark and the applications.
We created the Brand Identity encompassing the values and goals of the Office – amplification (logo is taken from shapes of megaphones), transparency, unification (coming together, not feeling alone). The colour palette is bold, vibrant and loud – echoing the message of voice amplification. We created a full suite of brand assets for the client so they could create various collateral with a consistent look and feel.
Client Testimonial: “Thank you so much for the amazing work you have done on the Special Advocate branding – we absolutely LOVE it and it is going to make such a difference to our work, and particularly our engagement with Survivors. Right from the outset it was so clear how much genuine care and thought you and the team put into the concepts, and we are so grateful for this consideration and all the work and efforts you have put in. You absolutely nailed the brief and we now have exactly what Patricia herself and the team were trying to achieve in this role, focusing on the amplification of Survivor voices.”
