Cork’s The River Lee Hotel nominated for three prestigious awards

One of Cork’s most renowned hotels – The River Lee Hotel is proud to announce its nomination for three prestigious Gold Awards that recognise its excellence in delivering a first class customer experience.

As part of the 26th Annual Hotel & Catering Review Gold Medal Awards, The River Lee Hotel was nominated as finalist in the ‘Casual Dining’, ‘Eco-Friendly Hotel of the Year’ and in the ‘City Hotel of the Year’ categories, the latter of which is open to the public to vote on.

The Gold Medal Awards are independent awards for the Irish hospitality industry judged by industry experts, recognising and rewarding excellence in hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, spas, clubs and catering operations across the island of Ireland.

According to Ruairi O’Connor, General Manager of The River Lee Hotel, being nominated for three of these nationwide awards is a great recognition and honour.

“We have withstood challenging times in the hospitality industry and have emerged with a hotel where providing the best customer experience is truly our goal and dictates every decision we make as a team.

“We continue to invest heavily in our product and will spend over €2 million this year enhancing the hotel and upgrading vital services such as WIFI, IT equipment and our bar and terrace areas. However, it is our highly-trained and friendly staff who are our greatest asset

“The nomination in the Casual Dining category recognises our commitment to providing the best and most locally sourced ingredients, prepared by our hugely talented chef Shane O’Sullivan, and served by our friendly and highly-trained staff. Our nomination in the Eco-Friendly award category recognises our passion for bringing environmental participation and responsibility into everyday life at our business.”

“And our nomination in the City Hotel of the Year category is hugely significant and important to us as a hotel which has grown with time and with our customers’ needs over its 60 year history. Our heritage and picturesque location in the heart of Cork City, along with our bespoke design and quality, and being part of the exclusive Doyle Collection further strengthens our exclusive and top-class offering.”

The City Hotel of the Year award is open to the public to vote on, with online voting open until the 13th of August.
