COSMO Restaurant Survey shows the good times could be on the way back!

Irish people are eating out and doing so on a weekly basis. A customer behaviour survey carried out in Ireland by restaurant group COSMO Restaurants, recently asked over 1,800 people, “How often do you like to eat out?”.  The results showed that one third of those surveyed, predominantly from County Dublin, like to eat out on a weekly basis.

The results also showed that 63% of those surveyed manage to spend €30 or more when eating out. Begging the question, are the good times coming back?

For the Founder and Regional Director of COSMO, Bock Liang, he most definitely sees the good times coming back.  As he stated, “What we are seeing across all our restaurants in the UK and now in Liffey Valley in Dublin, more and more people are eating out on a regular basis. We are very much family orientated and we see families who dine with us at least on a weekly basis. Nearly 65% of people who participated in the survey have families and with people having increasingly busy lives, dining out together once a week as a family gives them much more quality together.”

In December 2016, COSMO Restaurants opened its first Irish restaurant in Liffey Valley and since then has seen over 150,000 people come through its doors. Promising a ‘cook fresh, eat fresh’ philosophy, the restaurant offers a choice of 150 dishes from around the world and diners have quickly fallen in love with the gastronomic journey COSMO takes customers on. There is also the opportunity to experience live cooking stations, including Teppanyaki which provides a theatre of tastes, aromas and sounds.

Speaking about the success of the Liffey Valley restaurant, Bock Liang, Regional Director said, “Our first Irish restaurant in LIffey Valley is one of our best performing in the group and we are very grateful for the loyalty and support we have received from all our customers. Our plans are to open a second restaurant in the near future in Dublin due to the demand for our international dining experience”.

The survey covered a variety of topics such as where people like to get there news and what social media sites they frequent. It also looked at how the COSMO customer came to hear about the restaurant, with the majority stating they visited the restaurant by referral, proving that face to face communication and the word of someone you trust can result in footfall for businesses.

In today’s society, this is seen quite regularly with the use of digital influencers to promote consumer goods and services, the proof is the immediate effect it can have on sales and footfall.

COSMO Dublin is open seven days a week (closed Christmas Day) and customers can expect to enjoy unlimited courses for one set price, (prices for Lunch and Dinner vary).  COSMO Dublin, is the perfect venue for any occasion, for families, groups of friends or colleagues.
