Create a new type of “family time”

When families today think of “family time,” it often involves going to see a movie or staying in to watch TV together, but now they have the opportunity to make a positive change and get fit as a family.

It has never been easier to get the whole family active thanks to a new ‘Kids Go Free’ initiative from LeisureWorld that sees them give away a free child membership with every 12 month or direct debit adult membership; while with every couple’s membership, up to two children 12 or under go free, at their Bishopstown and Churchfield facilities.

Christine Moloney, CEO at LeisureWorld says “We wanted to create an initiative that was inclusive and encourage families to live a healthier lifestyle, get active, and spend time together. Parents who exercise regularly with their children are not only teaching them how to be healthy, they are also reinforcing the family bonds and creating wonderful family traditions.”

Encouraging those who are reluctant to start a new routine, Christine added “This is a fantastic opportunity for super-busy parents who wouldn’t get as much exercise as they should without incorporating their kids into the process. At LeisureWorld we believe that fitness is for everyone. We believe this so much that our motto is ‘Every Body Belongs’. Remember it’s never too late to start a healthy habit! It may take a little effort to overcome a child’s, or indeed your own, initial reluctance, but just remember to start slowly. Every minute of activity helps.”

LeisureWorld Bishopstown is the home of swimming in Cork with options for the entire family thanks to a choice of three pools – a 25 metre pool ideal for swimmers of all levels and ages to learn, train, relax or simply have fun; a 4 lane 18 metre pool; and a toddler pool.

On the other side of Cork City, LeisureWorld Churchfield is a unique swimming pool complex as it is the only facility in the city with a giant flume water slide, a big favourite with kids of all ages. Beside the water slide is a shallow toddler pool equipped with a water play zone featuring its own mini water slide, and a learner pool ideal for the little swimmer gaining in water confidence, as well as a 4 lane 25 metre pool. At both facilities, over 18s will have access to a health suite with steam room and sauna, and the state-of-the-art gym.

The ‘Kids Go Free’ membership offer is open to both new and existing LeisureWorld members in LeisureWorld’s Bishopstown and Churchfield facilities, and is valid while the parent is a member.
