Friends Helping Each other through tough times

In tough times people often find out who their real friends are. No one knows this more than Ursula Flannery, mother, interior designer, fashion extraordinaire, Feng Shui expert and cancer battling trailblazer. Despite her illness, Ursula is no victim and has vowed to live life to the full.  In between her visits to hospital for treatment she spends every Wednesday evening from 6-9 helping her friend Joanne O’ Regan, owner of JLT Tiles Farranfore, by offering free  interior design consultations to customers.

Ursula studied fine art in Galway sharing a house with Milliner Phillip Tracy. They are firm friends to this day and Ursula has travelled far and wide exchanging ideas with Phillip as he put on shows in Tokyo, Russia and New Zealand.  Ursula uses the experiences, the vision and the culture of her travels in her interior design projects and has brought a flamboyant and creative streak to these projects.

“I don’t do boring. In 22 years of working in this industry I haven’t so much as repeated a chair cover”. No mean feat for someone whose projects have included The Lake Hotel Killarney, The Gleneagle Apartments and also the INEC. While working on the INEC she requested that JLT Tiles would be included on the list of tenders having heard of their excellent reputation. Little did she know that on meeting the owner, Joanne O’ Regan, they would become close friends. Both share the same passion for their respective businesses, both have an excellent work ethic but more importantly, both are fiercely proud of their integrity and their reputation. Ursula has watched Joanne’s business grow over the years and is delighted that she can now help her out by offering her skills and insights to customers every Wednesday evening.

Ursula says that in terms of tiles, they are a fairly permanent fixture; “I would advise people to get advice at the start so that they don’t make mistakes. Bring in your drawings or ideas from magazines. I’ll be happy to look at them and help to translate that look into something that suits a particular budget. I can show people how to accessorise with their tiles so that they can create a style that will suit them no matter how big or small the job”

Joanne is delighted that Ursula is joining JLT tiles every Wed evening and her varied skills and talent are certainly an added bonus for customers of JLT tiles. It is clear that these friends inspire each other and are there for each other during these tough times.

Ursula Flannery is available in the new retail and showroom facility at JLT Tiles, Farranfore every Wednesday from 6-9. To make an appointment please call(066)9793100
