Driven to Succes; Johnson & Perrott Motor Group awarded Cork SME Company of the Year

One of Cork’s oldest companies, Johnson & Perrott Motor Group is delighted to have been awarded ‘Cork SME Company of the Year’ by Cork Chamber of Commerce, in association with Vodafone.

Founded over 200 years ago, Johnson & Perrott Motor Group is one of Ireland’s leading motor retailers with a significant presence in Motor Dealerships and Corporate Fleet Management.

The award winning group has two car dealerships situated at Mahon Point Retail Park and Douglas Road in Cork city. The Group represents Honda, Kia, Jaguar, Land Rover, Opel, Peugeot and Volvo new car franchises together with Kia, Mitsubishi and Opel commercial franchises.

Recognition as Cork SME Company of the Year, is a proud achievement for the family-owned, stalwart company which employs just under 100 people is particularly significant in the context of the challenges the motor industry has faced in recent years, and marks a hugely positive start of 2014 which has already seen a great boost in car sales for the Johnson & Perrott Motor Group.

CEO of Johnson & Perrott, Mark Whitaker who is the fifth generation Whitaker to run the company, praised the values, team-work and spirit which he said were testament to the company’s success, reputation and long-standing endurance.

“What makes us different is a lifelong commitment to good customer service, honesty, integrity and also the maintenance of excellent business partnerships” he stated.

Leo O’Leary, Head of Large Business Vodafone of Ireland explained the attributes that made Johnson & Perrott worthy winners of SME Company of the Year.

“What was extremely impressive was how they organised their business to primarily focus on the customer- a customer obsession was a very strong theme that came through. The judging panel was extremely impressed by Johnson & Perrott’s management team, specifically because of their attitude, their performance and their professionalism.”

Johnson & Perrott has a proud association with transportation since it was established in 1810 and traded in horse-drawn carriages, to the motor retailer it is today with fleet management and light commercial vehicle rental also forming a pivotal part of the company. The Group has undergone a strategic, transformation programme over the last two years which has delivered an organisation that is profitable, has no net debt and is fully equipped for an upturn in the economy and motor trade.
