For CRY’s sake RUN!

28 January 2015

CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) this week kick-started its appeal for women to take part in the VHI Mini Marathon this June in order to raise much needed funds for the charity.

Top model and broadcaster Daniella Moyles, a strong supporter and ambassador for CRY, launched the campaign to encourage women to sign up, get fit and help raise awareness and vital funds for the charity.

CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) is an Irish charity that offers free screening and support to those who have lost loved ones to SADS (Sudden Adult Death Syndrome).

Funds raised from this year’s mini marathon will help raise awareness of the conditions that cause SADS and will also go towards Genetic counselling. This support service is offered to victims and relatives of victims to help them understand and deal with the risks, options and reality of the presence of the genetic disorder in their family.

Speaking about CRY and raising funds for the Mini Marathon Orla Durken from CRY said: “we are really looking forward to this year’s Mini Marathon and hope to sign up loads of people to participate in aid of CRY. We are delighted that Daniella who is one of our ambassadors has agreed to front this campaign and help raise vital funds who have been affected by SADS. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just on a get fit mission, join team CRY and enjoy a fun filled day while also helping us take every step to help those whose loved ones were taken all too suddenly from their lives.”

Daniella Moyles is leading the charge with CRY to ask women nationwide to join her to run, walk or crawl over the finish line at the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon 2015 and ‘run for CRY’s sake’!
