The show will be held over two nights in February; Young Designer of the Year competition to be held on Wednesday 18th and Maria Lola Roche, former winner of Young Designer of the Year will showcase her new collection on Thursday 19th, the Gala night.

All proceeds to go directly to CRY Ireland - Cardiac Risk in the Young. CRY Ireland (Cardiac Risk in the Young) is an Irish charity that offers free screening and support to those who have lost loved ones to SADS (Sudden Adult Death Syndrome).

Andréa Henry, UCD Fashion Show Producer, is delighted to announce that the funds from this year’s show will go directly to a very worthy cause, CRY Ireland (Cardiac Risk in the Young), an Irish charity that offers free screening and support to those who have lost loved ones to SADS (Sudden Adult Death Syndrome). She stated  ‘We are thrilled to be able to provide a platform from which young Irish designers can potentially launch their career and to welcome the hugely successful Maria Lola Roche back this year all in support of such a fantastic charity’

Held over two nights, the UCD Fashion Show aims to promote the best of what young Irish designers have to offer. The theme of this year’s show is ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ and with the models fully embracing each of the sins; Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony and Lust, it is sure to be a night to remember.

Wednesday 18th February sees the Young Designer of the Year Award return to showcase the best of young emerging design talent in Ireland today. Accepting entries from across design schools in Dublin and further afield, students will get the chance to show their unique creations to an audience of over 1,200 people and be judged by a panel of guest judges, including Maria Lola Roche, former winner of the competition in 2012.

Maria will be with us again on Thursday 19th February, the Gala night, to debut her new collection. The young designer has gone from strength to strength since her success in 2012, and has made huge strides in the fashion world of late, reaching the final five of the ‘Designer for Tomorrow’ competition judged by Tommy Hilfiger. As part of the competition she was given the opportunity to have her clothes shown at Berlin Fashion Week.

Tickets are available from all models and crew,  UCD Students’ Union shops and through the UCD ENTS app and are priced at €12 and €15.
