It has been said that if tea can’t fix it, then there’s no hope. Or maybe that’s just another Irishism! ‘Vintage Tea Tours’ is the Dublin City tour with a difference.  Passengers will get the chance to enjoy some of the city’s well-known sights, whilst comfortably seated in a vintage double decker Routemaster bus named Pauline and indulging on some delicious afternoon tea treats - Did someone say cake?!

This fabulous new venture was inspired by a girl’s trip to London. Entrepreneur and founder Karen Nixon, with the support of her family, felt that the romance and fun behind the concept of being chauffeured in a double decker bus, while enjoying pastries and the likes, needed to be shared. So much so that she bought a bus! Pauline is lovingly named after Karen’s grandmother - courageous, fierce and fabulous, full of fun, love, warmth and honesty.

Speaking about the new venture and Pauline, Karen said, “We are so excited to be introducing Pauline to the world of tours and afternoon tea. As a family, we’ve all had a part in making this venture happen and it is fantastic to be able to include my beloved Gran on this journey with us”.

The tour will run three times a day: 11am, 1.15pm and 3.30pm and tickets start from €40. Passengers will be in the safe hands of Driver Bob and the on-board Vintage Tea Tours Team who will share some interesting and juicy “need to know” facts about Dublin, its sights and of course the loveable Pauline! All of this can be enjoyed while nibbling on an array of scrumptious delicacies and some surprising treats such as a Vanilla Panna Cotta with forest berry compote or a mouth-watering Guinness brownie, all freshly prepared daily by fine dining, Italian Chef Donato Romano.

Karen continued, “There is so much history and romance involved in Vintage Tea Tours and we want our customers to be able to experience it all. To share a nostalgic moment with family and friends, as you remember the simple pleasure of tea and cake while sitting at your Gran's table in the snug warmth of her kitchen - it’s just on wheels this time!”
