Santa takes up residence at Wm.O'Brien Storage for Greater Chernobyl Cause

27 November 2008

Santa is planning to make a special journey from the North Pole this year to Wm O'Brien Storage on the Bandon Road in Cork, where he will take up residence during the month of December,to help the Greater Chernobyl Cause's ongoing work in Kazakhstan.

The children of Cork can come and see this magical Winter Wonderland at Wm O'Brien Storage and also have a chance to meet and greet Santa and his helpers. The boys and girls can have their photograph taken as a memento of the occasion and Santa will reward them with a gift at a cost of €10.00. More importantly, Santa will also be waiting to take their letters back to the hard working elves in the North Pole.

Santa will be there on Sunday 7th December at 2.00pm and will be in residence until 6.00pm that evening. He will also be present on Saturday 13th December from  10.00am - 6.00pm  Sunday 14th December from 12noon - 6.00pm  Saturday 20th December from 10.00am - 6.00pm  Sunday 21st December  from 12noon - 6.00pm . Monday 22nd December from 3.00pm - 6.00pm.

"All monies raised will go towards our care home in the northern city of Semipalatinsk, Kazakhstan which doubles as a hospice; it is deprived of essential medical supplies, proper bedding and basic food.  In tiny fly-blown rooms, each built to hold just three people, we are struggling to cope with twice that number. The chronically sick are together with the homeless, the mentally challenged and others thought to be suffering from long term exposure of radiation from the nearby former Soviet nuclear testing site. We are desperately seeking funds to support these people who are existing on four cents per day per person for food. We ask people to come out and support our charity Santa project There is no better gift, than making those who feel abandoned know that they are cared for "concluded Fiona Corcoran CEO of The Greater Chernobyl Cause.
