The Imperial Hotel’s Escape Spa has won the coveted accolade of ‘Spa of the Year’, as voted by the general public, at the Irish Hair & Beauty Awards 2018.

Over 600 of Ireland’s elite beauty professionals, including the dedicated team from Cork City’s only urban spa, gathered at the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport Hotel on September 2nd for a star studded night recognising and rewarding the best in the beauty industry.

The Irish Hair and Beauty Awards 2018, now in their third year, have become a staple event in the hair and beauty calendar, celebrating the amazing breadth of talent, as well as the efforts and dedication of the very best beauticians and spas in Ireland, who invest in ensuring their customers always receive high-quality services and treatments.

Escape Spa provides a sanctuary from the stresses of the world, with each corner of the spa designed to soothe guests’ senses. The urban retreat is an oasis of calm where relaxation and rejuvenation take centre stage, offering an array of tranquil treatments and products from spa brands VOYA and Aveda. The spa features ten bespoke treatment rooms, each designed with a unique Zen garden display and is also home to Cork City’s designated Dry Floatation room, star lit relaxation room and Vitality Suite with heated indoor hydrotherapy pool, aroma steam room, brine grotto and tropical experience shower.

Congratulating the team in Escape Spa, Frits Potgieter, General Manager at the four star Imperial Hotel said “We continually receive great feedback from guests of Escape Spa, commenting on the wonderful experience they’ve had and how impressed they were by our spa therapists; so it’s not hard to see why we were top of the list when it came to the public vote. I want to congratulate each and every one of our Escape team, led by our superb Spa Manager, Melissa O’Connor. They strive to offer all guests an unforgettable spa experience and it’s great to see this recognised with this national award.”

A spokesperson of the Irish Hair and Beauty Awards 2018 said: “We are honoured to have welcomed some of the best gurus of the beauty industry at the third Irish Hair and Beauty Awards. It was definitely a memorable and inspiring night reflecting the style and talent that flows in this country. All winners and finalists should feel really proud of themselves as the competition was really tough this year.”

The ceremony was the beauty edition of The Irish Hair and Beauty Awards, which have been split in two ceremonies this year. The hair related categories were presented on September 9th.

The awards also provided the opportunity to fundraise for the official charity partner, ‘Look Good Feel Better Ireland’ that helps women and teenagers manage the visible side effects of cancer treatment.
