Vintage Tea Trips survey reveals that 85% of Irish People believe that the Art of Having a Cup of Tea and a Chat has been lost due to Mobile Phones

There is no doubt that phones have taken over and replaced a lot of great things in our lives, but it is so important that we take our heads out of our phones, slow down and cherish the art of storytelling, so our wonderful tales can live on for years to come.

On Saturday 30th November, Vintage Tea Trips (formerly Vintage Tea Tours) launched their brand new, refurbished tour bus. Vintage Tea Trips allows you to experience the beauty of Dublin in a truly unique way by transporting you back in time with afternoon tea and a trip on a vintage tour bus.

The survey also revealed that 44% of those who took part in the survey feel technology makes them feel slightly lonely. However, 62% of people believe that having a cup of tea and chat really does make them feel less lonely and is good for their mental health, with one person saying that a cup of tea is “the perfect companion for a chat or discussion with your nearest and dearest.”

Speaking at the launch of the newly rebranded Vintage Tea Trips, founder and COO, Karen Nixon said “The idea for Vintage Tea Trips stemmed from my unique bond with my grandmother, who was unapologetically curious and interested about people and very kind and welcoming. Vintage Tea Trips really garners that safe, warm and funny atmosphere which you share with your loved ones over a cup of tea and a chat. Nowadays, it is a rarity not to have your head stuck in a phone or laptop and take a break from your hectic work life. Vintage Tea Trips offers a safe and warm space to enjoy a cup of tea and chat with your nearest and dearest.”

The results showed that 96% of Irish people surveyed believe that having a cup of tea helps them to relax and take some time out of their busy days. However, it is very clear that Irish people find it hard to find to sit down and relax and chat about their feelings as the majority of people live very fast-paced, busy lifestyles, with one person saying that “Drinking tea is the one thing in my life that I have done every day. I have shared many life changing moments and made hundreds of decisions, with a cup of tea in my hand.”

The survey also asked the old age question - Barry’s or Lyons? And at the end of this survey we are still none the wiser, with Barry’s narrowly beating Lyons by 0.3% out of nearly 400 people who completed the survey.

Nowadays, the majority of people constantly have their heads stuck in their phones and rarely take time to look up and enjoy their surroundings. Vintage Tea Trips is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a trip around Dublin City while enjoying a sweet treat and a cup of tea with those who mean the most to you.
