Market Square Mallow Welcomes the World's Favourite Dysfunctional Family, The Simpsons this St. Patrick's Day

10 March 2009

The Simpsons are coming to Ireland on St. Patrick's Day in the first ever episode to be screened in Europe ahead of the US, and they'll be making a very special appearance at Market Square, Mallow from 4pm following the St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Everyone is invited to join Bart, Homer and Marge for fun and festivities for all the family at the shopping centre on St. Patrick's Day, where they can have their photo taken for free with the world's favourite dysfunctional family. The photos will be available for collection in Mods & Minis at Market Square from Friday 20th March.

Kids will love the balloons and sweets that The Simpsons will be giving out after the Parade which starts at 2.30pm down town, while Mum's and Dad's can enjoy some great shopping or a relaxing coffee in any of the centre's eateries.

Market Square decided to organise this fun activity when it was announced that Homer was bringing his family across "the big pond" for an Irish set episode especially for St. Patrick's Day. Tracey O'Brien, Manager of the Gate Cinema at Market Square said "The special episode sees Homer and Grandpa Simpson buy an Irish pub and visit famous Irish landmarks like the Giant's Causeway, Blarney Castle and the Guinness Brewery, so we thought why not get them to visit Market Square on their travels! We saw the success of The Simpsons Movie first hand and know how popular they are with mums, dads and kids of all ages."

The Simpsons will visit Market Square from 4pm next Tuesday, St. Patrick's Day, so arrive early don't miss out on what promises to be a fun filled afternoon at Market Square, Mallow.
