"RETURN THE FAVOUR" - Treat Your Granny or Granddad on National Grandparent's Day at The Gate Mallow, Market Square, Mallow

21 September 2009

National Grandparent's Day takes place on Sunday 27th September, and on this special day, children will have the opportunity to treat their grandparents to an exclusive advance screening of Disney Pixar's new movie, UP at 11.30am in The Gate Mallow, Market Square, Mallow for FREE.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures (IRELAND) in association with Friends of The Elderly are inviting children to ‘return the favour' and bring their granny or granddad along to the cinema on their special day. Each child just has to pay the child's admission price, and their grandparent can accompany them free of charge.

UP is the brand new comedy adventure from  Disney•Pixar about 78-year-old balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen, who finally fulfils his lifelong dream of a great adventure when he ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to the wilds of South America.  But he discovers all too late that his biggest nightmare has stowed away on the trip:  an overly optimistic 9-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell. UP invites you on a hilarious journey into a lost world, with the least likely duo on Earth.

Friends of the Elderly is an Irish charity that brings friendship and social opportunities to the elderly, especially those who live alone.

The special screening at 11.30am at The Gate Mallow on September 27th promises to be a treat for grandparents and grandchildren alike, as UP does not officially open Nationwide until October 9th.

Booking is advised, and tickets can be purchased by phoning (022) 53282 or calling to the box office at The Gate Mallow, Market Square, Mallow.  For further information visit: www.corkcinemas.com, www.upthemovie.ie and www.friendsoftheelderly.ie.
