Christmas Spirit to Light Up Mallow - Thursday 3rd December

The magic of Christmas will be brought to life in Mallow this Thursday 3rd December with the Switching on of the Christmas Lights.

The fun will begin at 5.15pm at Market Square Mallow with fun for all the family with a DJ, balloons, sweets, and a very special visit from the big man himself, Santa Claus.

A number of Market Square tenants are setting up Post Boxes where little visitors to Market Square can drop off their letters to Santa from this Thursday. You can find the special post boxes in Pizza Hut, Mods & Minis, littlePIGGY's Shoes for Kids, National Irish Bank, Subway and the Gate Cinema Mallow. All the letters will be collected and delivered to Santa closer to Christmas.

Following this, everyone is invited to parade down town for the Official Switching on of the Christmas Lights at 6pm. The lights will be switched on by Mayor Richard Dempsey who will be assisted by representatives from the COPE Foundation.

Mayor Dempsey says "We're encouraging families to come out and join in the fun this Thursday at Market Square and then make their way down to help us light up Mallow this Christmas! We promise a fun evening for all, so wrap up warm and let's get Christmas started in Mallow!"

Market Square has free underground parking for 450 cars so get there early and enjoy the start of the Christmas festivities in Mallow.
