11 December 2009

Saturday the 19th DecemberStarts @ Scott Street - 2pm

It's just over a week to go until the first ever Christmas in Killarney Santa Fun Run which will take place on Saturday 19th December. Killarney's couples, families, young and old, along with fine strapping members of the Killarney Rugby club, will take part and raise funds for the 5th Annual Christmas in Killarney Festival.

If you would like to take part and join a stream of Santa's and his helpers for a day of fun and Christmas banter, you can still register online at It doesn't matter if you run, walk or crawl, as all levels of fitness are welcome. If you don't fancy taking part why not come along anyway and show your support? There will also be lots of spot prizes given away throughout the day for best dressed Santa's and little helpers.

Afterwards, to continue on with the fun and laughter, a Mega Santa Party will be held in Scotts Bar & Courtyard, with special guest Liam O'Connor who will give a performance which promises to be a treat for all. Guests will also enjoy a selection of delicious finger food.

Organiser Catriona O'Callaghan is looking forward to the event and said: "There has been a great response so far, especially from local companies signing up in big groups to take part on the day. There is still time to take part so don't miss out on a great day out for everyone which will help towards the continued success of the Christmas in Killarney festival."

The race will start and finish at Scotts Street, taking in the beautiful Lakes of Killarney and the Killarney National Park along the route. The registration fee of €25 includes a free Santa suit, goodie pack and entry into the after party.
