"Work Smarter,Not Harder" Technology Seminar hosted by Waveform Solutions offers insights into how technology can cut costs, increase productivity and save up to 20% on labour costs

Increasing productivity, innovative ideas,adapting technology, tracking items, forecasting work, saving time, reducing the paper trail and above all saving money were all themes discussed at the "Work Smarter in the Warehouse" seminar held yesterday at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin.  The event was hosted by Waveform Solutions, a company that has been providing data capture and mobility solutions since 1988. Key speakers at the event included Philip Prain Jr from Martin Brower, Edward Sweeney from National Institute of Transport Logistics, Eddie Stride, President of Pacific Labour Consulting and Alan Carroll, MD of Waveform Solutions.

Delegates from the logistics, distribution and transport sector travelled from all over Ireland to attend the event. Companies attending the event included Musgraves, Tesco, the Irish Blood Transfusion service, Nightline and Iron Mountain. What each company held in common wass the need to incorporate innovative technology into their systems, to keep track of their products, to forecast and to easily locate items.

MD Alan Carroll of Waveform Solutions said;

 "We decided to host this event in order to demonstrate to specific industries how they can implement technology in order to reduce their labour costs by up to 20% and increase their productivity using a standards based software solution (WINS). We have worked on these packages for a number of years and our job is to adapt this technology to each company's individual requirement so that they have a solution designed specifically for them. We had a great interest in today's event and the delegates who attended were able to see exactly how the systems work with our demonstrations"

The seminar was supported by Motorola, Zebra, Wavelink, Voxware, Chain Logic and Pacific Labour who demonstrated the hardware and software systems that can be adapted to suit individual requirements.  Information from the event was then given to each delegate in a handy Waveform USB key thus cutting down on paper, a prime example of using technology smarter.
